Biografía

Juan Salvador Raya is since 2020 professor at Katarina Gurska School of Music Madrid and at Real Conservatorio Superior Granada and.

He studied at Barenboim Academy, Liszt School of Music and Münster University with Prof. A. Wilczok und Prof. U. Beetz as a scholarship holder of Madrid Mutua Foundation.

After his studies he took over a violin and chamber music class with first prizes of German Youth Music Competition and received an “Award for special merits of cultural employees of the city of Jena” (Germany). Furthermore he completed his pedagogical knowledge with B. Kuschnir, C. Wijzenbeek, etc. Finally he returned to Spain an obtained his violin chair as one of the youngest professors in Spain.

He gained positive orchestral experience as second concertmaster with artists such as Sabine Meyer, Gerhard Schulz (Alban Berg Quartet) and Emmanuel Tjeknavorian and in orchestral auditions (1st violins Stuttgart Philharmonic) and has performed in chamber music ensemble with Sergio Pontes, Prof. Alexander Vitlin (assistant of D. Barenboim).

Juan Salvador also received invitations to serve on the jury of the Federal German Youth Music Competition and the loan of a J. B. Vuillaume violin of 1863 from the Segelman Trust Foundation (Switzerland).
