Daniel Claret

Violoncello professor

Biography

I was born in Barcelona in 1987 in a family of musicians. My parents are both cellists and have always been a great reference.
Other teachers who have helped me evolve and have a big influence on me are Jordi Mora, Julius Berger and Bernard Greenhouse, with whom I had the privilege to work intensely and continuously.
At the age of 23 I made my debut as a soloist at the Palau de la Música Catalana, and I have a very special memory of that experience. Later I have performed as a soloist with various orchestras in Spain, Germany and Andorra.
I was solo cello at the the Camera Musicae Orchestra for 6 years. It was a period of great learning in many ways. Currently, I continue with my orchestral task collaborating with the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra (OBC), the Orchestra of the Gran Teatre del Liceu and the National Orchestra of Andorra. I combine this facet with the creation and realization of numerous more personal projects that contribute profoundly to my growth, such as “The faith…”, for solo cello, the “Integral for cello and piano by Ludwig van Beethoven” together with Àlex Ramírez or the shows “Inventions” and “Highlands” with the group of creation Mal Pelo.

Chamber music occupies a primordial space in my professional development. I am lucky to be able to share it with great musicians, who on many occasions I also consider good friends, which makes the musical connection even more enriching.
Another space in which I feel very comfortable is teaching. My main task has been carried out for five years at the Liceu Conservatory of Barcelona, where I am very happy to be the assistant professor of my father Lluís Claret. From the 2022-2023 academic year, I feel very fortunate to join the teaching team of the Forum Musikae High School of Music.

The classes will be held together with Lluís Claret and Anna Mora.
