Biography

Camilo J. Irizo Campos was born in Pilas (Seville-Spain).

He studied in Conservatorio Superior de Música “Manuel Castillo” from Seville. Nowadays he is teaching as full professor in the same Conservatory.

As a player he has performed in numerous concert hall both inside and outside his country, such as­: Auditorio Nacional (Madrid), Musikverein (Viena), Sendesaal  from the Radio (Bremen), Auditorio 400 del Museo Reina Sofia (Madrid), Teatro of Maestranza (Sevilla), Teatro Central  (Sevilla), Auditori of Barcelona, Auditorio of Zaragoza, Centro Galego of Arte Contemporáneo, Teatros of the Canal (Madrid), Centro Ccori Wasi of Lima, Teatro of Brest, Auditorio León de Greiff of Bogotá, among others.

He is playing in Ensemble Taller Sonoro from Seville and he is Director of the magazine Espacio Sonoro, about contemporary music (www.espaciosonoro.tallersonoro.com).

He had teached in courses and masterclasses, both in Spain and outside.

He is endorser of Yamaha clarinets, D’addario reeds and Silverstein ligatures.

He has recorded for Radio Clásica, Radio and Televisión Vasca (EITB), Radio CCE of Lima (Perú), Nordwest Radio of Bremen (Alemania), and Radio Televisión Galega.

Recordings for labels Columna Música, Anemos, Instituto Cervantes of Bremen and Fundación Autor-CDMC. Currently he has recorded a new CD “Un diálogo cordial” about Luis de Pablo’s composer.

He conducts the Municipal Band of Coria del Río, the Wind Orchestra and the Contemporary Music Ensemble of the Superior Conservatory of Seville.

She has received the 2018 Culture Award from the Town Hall of Pilas (Seville),  for his career.

Due to his activity, he has premiered more than 200 works and has interpreted most of the most renowned composers of the 20th and 21st centuries.

He has dedicated pieces by: Francisco Pastor, Alicia Díaz de la Fuente, Katalyn Szekely, Alberto Carretero, Javier Campaña, E. Sanz-Burguete, Miguel Ángel Romero, Manuel Añón, Carlos Guillén.

He is an artist on Yamaha clarinets, D’addario reeds and Silverstein ligatures.

He plays with the Artist model in Bb and CSG in A.
