Polish cellist Rafal Jezierski studied at Juilliard School and Manhattan School of Music of New York enjoying full scholarships. He was also chosen to perform in masterclasses with Mstislav Rostropovich, Yo-Yo Ma, Janos Starker and Lynn Harrell. He is a co-principal cellist of the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana, where he plays regularly under the batons of Maestros such as Lorin Maazel and Zubin Mehta.

As a soloist, he has performed with orchestras such as Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana (Lorin Maazel), The Jeunesses Musicales (Robert Satanowski) or Manhattan School of Music Symphony (George Manahan). His experience in chamber music includes performances in some of the most important festivals worldwide, such as the Rossini Festival in Pesaro, the Due Mondi Festival in Spoleto, the Festival del Mediterrani (Valencia), the Music Festival of the Hamptons or the Norfolk Festival. He has performed together with artists such as Pinchas Zuckerman, Lukas Foss, Isidore Cohen, Eugene Drucker, Mikhail Kopelman or Anne Marie McDermott.

He also has colaborated with composers such as Lorin Maazel (The Giving Tree), Gian Carlo Menotti (Suite for two cellos and piano) or Ned Rorem (Spring Music for trio).

He is a winner of the “Lotos Club Foundation Prize in the Arts”, 32nd Artists International Auditions, Eisenberg Concerto Competition and Interlochen Arts Academy and Manhattan School of Music Concerto Competitions. The critics have highlighted him on numerous ocasiones, saying: “Special mention for the cellist Rafal Jeziersky (sic), who perfectly interpreted the musical notes which represent the tree in “The Giving Tree” (J. Guzmán: ABC, 3rd of March 2011).

His solos can be heard on Cd’s Recital of Erwin Schrott (Decca) and Voices of Tarik O’Reagan (Collegium Records). Since 2007 Rafal Jezierski is the visiting professor giving Masterclasses in the Conservatorio Profesional de Musica in Valencia
